It was erected in May 2016 as a testament to the exchange between Japan and the UK through cherry blossoms.
It is located in the plaza near the Matsumae Cherry Blossom Museum, and the history of friendship between Japan and Britain through the cherry blossoms is inscribed on a stone monument.
