Notsuke-Furen Prefectural Natural Park

A park facing the Sea of Okhotsk located between East Hokkaido, Shiretoko peninsula and Nemuro Peninsula. Popular plant and bird-watching spots are Notsuke Peninsula, Odaito, Shunkunitai nature reserve, and Lake Furen. These areas are inhabited by Red-crowned cranes, Sandpipers, white-tailed eagles, Steller's sea eagles, Whooper swans, ducks and various forest birds. On the Notsuke Peninsula you can see dead trees stood up at Todowara and Narawara.
