Sapporo Clock Tower

This popular tourist attraction is known as Japan’s oldest clock tower. It rings every hour on the hour the number of times of the hour of day (156 times a day).

It was originally a martial arts dojo for the Sapporo agricultural school that preceded Hokkaido University. A nationally designated important cultural property.
